Positive Affirmations

We have included Positive Affirmations as an option on all our albums with a choice of either male or female voices. These affirmations can be heard spaced rhythmically through the music, designed to not distract from the relaxation/motivational pace of the music. We have created our affirmations to have a positive impact on your overall wellbeing as well as focusing on the targeted area - i.e. relaxing or working out/exercising.



What are affirmations?


Affirmations are short, positive statements that are written as if something is the 'now'. (I am), rather than the future (I will, I can). They target and challenge our negative subconscious beliefs - that we cannot do certain things, that we are not good enough etc.
Affirmations are used in most personal development (or self-help, but a lot of people don't like that phrase) programs. They are used across the board, from down-to-earth business programs to those of a more spiritual nature. Many professionals are convinced of the value of these simple statements that aim to undermine negative beliefs in your subconscious and replace them with positive. The more you listen, the more positive the results.
We all have that inner voice that nags at us, even if we are not immediately aware of it. 90% of the self-talk/inner dialogue of an average person is believed to be negative. Think about what that inner voice may tell you on a daily basis: "I am too tired to do that", "I would not have the confidence to go up there and make a speech like that", "I am not clever/rich/thin enough to associate with that crowd". You probably don't even realise that you are doing it.
If you are new to affirmations, then the idea of statements telling you things you don't think are true, can feel a little strange. But be assured - affirmations are not self-deception, but self-direction.



Your Affirmations List


With every album purchased, you will also be sent the text of the affirmations (the children's one's also include an illustrated pdf, based on the themes of the songs). It can be helpful to read these affirmations or even keep them pinned up somewhere, as the more you hear and read them, the more positive messages are being sent to your subconscious.



Affirmations for the Exercise/Workout Album


You may have a straight-forward attitude to life and you don't feel that positive affirmations are for you/you don't like the idea of affirmations but it may still be worth considering these with your exercise/workout album as hearing these encouraging statements can really can give you some extra motivation during a hard workout or run.
Many long distance runners use positive self talk to block out pain during tough parts of a race. Scientists have long been studying athletes to see how the mind can control how the body reacts to situations. It is now commonplace for high level athletes also to use visualisation as a tool.



Affirmations for the Relaxation Album


Relaxation is invaluable to combat stress and the physical ailments which can result from too much stress. People are stressed for a variety of reasons, but often it can be pinned down to a few basics - feelings of lack of power, time, energy, knowledge, confidence, money - all of which lead to fear and worry.
Most of this stems from feeling that you are not in control of all aspects of your life. When you feel like this then your self-esteem and self-confidence is not likely to be very high. The relaxation affirmations are designed to relax and calm you, but to also focus on positive beliefs about yourself.
It may seem frivolous to take time out for yourself, especially when you have a thousand and one things to do and there are loved ones that you feel you should be putting first. The old adage however, that other people cannot love you if you cannot love yourself, does ring true.
Improving your self-esteem and confidence will have a positive effect in every aspect of your life, work, relationships, your creativity and even health. If you are not sure you believe that the affirmations will work for you, then, hey, at the very least, it is quite nice to lie back, relax and have someone tell you nice things about yourself!!



Affirmations for the Children's Relaxation Album


In the same way that the standard relaxation affirmations focus on self-esteem, confidence, calm and health - so do the affirmations on the children's album. However we have also included those to encourage feeling of being safe and being loved, which is so important for a child or baby.
Of course, these are positive messages that parents know they should be getting through to their child - that they are wonderful and clever and creative and loved and they can be whoever they want to be.
However, it's not easy to remember or have the energy to do this every week, let alone every day, when daily life takes over - when your priority is getting the kicking baby into the car seat and convincing your 8 year old not to stick the Lego up his nose. This is why we recommend using the subliminal or audible affirmations. So the loving, encouraging messages you feel and mean to send out to your child are being heard by them on a regular basis.
Consider using one or two tracks for a daily quiet time. This can be just listening to the music (letting them choose their favourite theme) with the subliminal messages, and perhaps at bedtime listening to the audible positive affirmations while they fall asleep.
What a nice thought, that your baby or child's last word they hear before dropping off to sleep, are that they are loved and that they are amazing.
